One of the first questions I get asked when I tell people I work in the landscape industry is how I got there. That's a fair question, especially considering I don't quite have a green thumb (yet).
After earning a journalism degree at the University of Alabama, I went to work for two B2B magazines, Total Landscape Care and Equipment World, and fell in love with all of the people in the industries. I've also worked with other magazines like Better Roads and Landscape Management since then. I was just looking for a writing job at the time, but it's turned into so much more in the past five years.
When I'm not writing, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Thomas, and our five pets. My family refers to my brood as the zoo, and that's fine by me.
I didn't set out to work in the green industry, but I'm sure glad I do. I love being able to craft companies' messages through blogs and other marketing content and grow their online presences. It doesn't get much better than that.
When I'm working remotely you can find me...
Surrounded by my five furry children — two dogs and three cats — occasionally breaking up a fight over a toy or treat.
When I'm not at home, I like to head to the local Barnes and Noble for a snack and some writing inspiration.
What I enjoy most about the green industry is...
The people. Yes, I know that's what everyone says, but that's because it's the truth. In my five years in the industry, I've met so many great people and made lifelong friendships.
