Two Easy Ways to Add Your Flickr Images to Facebook
Chris Heiler | August 27, 2010

I'm a huge fan of Flickr. You probably realize that if you've been following me for a while. In fact, Flickr is the first social media platform I adopted just three years ago.

I know this is a bit strange, but I actually don't have a single photograph in my home. I've uploaded everything to Flickr's digital cloud. Instead of opening my wallet to showoff a picture of Charlie I instead open my laptop :-)

Now Facebook Pages are all the rage and I feel like I should have a sampling of my landscaping portfolio parked over there. If you're like me and invested a ton of time uploading, tagging and organizing your photos on Flickr, you don't want to repeat the process for Facebook.

Fortunately, there are two fairly painless ways to sync your Flickr images with your Facebook Page or Profile.

Add a Flickr tab to your Facebook Page or Profile

The good folks at Facebook give you the ability to customize the tabs on your Profile and Pages by installing third-party "applications".

A favorite application of mine is called FlickrTab which displays your Flickr Collections, Sets and Photostream as a tab on your Facebook Profile or Page. When you add an image to Flickr, your Facebook tab is automatically updated (very nice).

Another bonus: Visitors can view your Flickr photos from within Facebook without having to leave the site.

Adding the FlickrTab application to your Facebook Profile is free. Adding it to your Page will cost you $10/year (bummer).

This video shows you how to add FlickrTab to Facebook:

Import Flickr images into a Facebook album

This option is more time consuming compared to using the FlickrTab application. That said, more people will view your images if they are in an actual Facebook album--this is how Facebook users are accustomed to navigating and viewing photos (the photos also show up in your friend's News Feed).

Bottomline: FlickrTab is easier to set up, but importing images into a Facebook album is probably more effective in reaching more eyeballs.

To import your Flickr images into a Facebook album you will use a handy tool called the Flickr2Facebook bookmarklet.

The drawback is that you import one picture at a time--you cannot import an entire Set of images. Also, you can only import photos into albums on your Facebook Profile, not your Page.

Here's how the Flickr2Facebook bookmarklet works:
